Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park
Amost everywhere you look in Cayman, development is taking place. While this can lead to prosperity, it can also lead to the destruction of Cayman's precious natural resources. 
To try to ensure the survival of as much of Cayman's natural heritage as possible, the Government and the National Trust for Cayman have joined together to create the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park of the Cayman Islands - an area that has a Woodland Nature trail (an exploration of which reveals the multitude of trees and flowers which grow on Cayman), Floral Colour Garden (flowers with a wide hue of colors), Heritage Garden (showing what old Caymanian living was like back in the days), a Lake (with aquatic wildlife) and a Visitors' Centre (a cafe and gift shop). You see a wide variety of plants, birds and small animals, and you might just see including the agouti (often referred to as the Cayman rabbit) and the indigenous blue iguana. The Park is on Frank Sound Road, a 30 minute drive from George Town. It is open daily from 9am to 6:30pm (last admission 5:30pm). Admission costs CI$5.00 for adults and CI$2.50 for children 6-12 and children under 6 -free.
